If any of the following reasons are keeping you from pursuing a physical rehabilitation program for your dog, home visits might be the next best thing to sliced bread!
Travel: Driving takes time and sometimes busy life or work schedules do not allow the time needed to battle traffic for an inpatient rehabilitation session at Stride.
Canine Anxiety: If your dog doesn’t travel well or is anxious in medical settings, let us come to you!
Convelescent Canines: The logistics of transporting a convalescent dog may not be an option for some. Our team is always ready to provide the best physical rehabilitation services to dogs in need!
Challenged Human Mobility: Let’s face it, as we age alongside our dogs, it’s much more challenging to get them safely in and out of the car. Home rehabilitation sessions can keep everyone safe from mishaps associated with loading and unloading into a vehicle.
While we can’t bring hydrotherapy to you we can provide the following treatment options to help get your dog back to doing the things they love!
- Physical rehabilitation evaluations
- Therapeutic exercise
- Massage and manual therapy
- NMES/ESTIM
- Home Exercise Review
- Laser Therapy
- Therapeutic Ultrasound
- PEMF Treatment
- A Whole Lot of FUN!
Modalities and treatments that we sadly can’t bring with us:
- Hydrotherapy
- Acupuncture
- Shockwave Therapy
Scheduling an appointment:
Due to our inpatient schedule, we require home sessions be scheduled with a minimum of two weeks notice. Give us a call today so we can get started with a rehabilitation program as soon as possible!
Appointment Time! Preparing for your in-home rehabilitation evaluation or follow-up sessions:
- Move other dogs/cats to a different part of your home. If needed, provide other dogs with a frozen food toy that they can quietly consume.
- Kids are always welcome to watch just understand that physical rehabilitation sessions will be more productive if we can work without too many distractions.
- Have the dog we will be working with on a leash when we arrive.
- Have soft treats or kibble that your dog likes (a lot).
- Be sure the space we will be using is carpeted or has flooring with excellent traction.
- Be sure your dog has had the opportunity to go out for a potty break prior to their session.
- Have your payment ready if your visit has not been prepaid. Our staff members can accept cash or check only when paying at the time of service.
Cancellation Policy:
Due to the time commitment placed on our schedule, please try to provide us with 48 hours notice of your need to cancel a home visit.
- Any cancellations falling in less than 24 hours will be billed the travel fee associated with the visit.
- No One’s Home! If we arrive and no one is home, you will be billed for the entire session and travel fee.
Winter Travel Conditions:
If you don’t feel safe driving in it, you can be sure that we feel the same. We take road safety seriously and we hope you will understand that it may mean we need to reschedule on late notice.
